The Betsson Corporation has formally entered the French market subsequent to obtaining regulatory consent for sports wagering operations.
Collaborating with a domestic enterprise to bolster its French endeavors, the company will leverage Sportradar’s technological framework. Betsson France SA aspires to introduce a distinctive product and user encounter to the market. Nadir Ounissi, a stakeholder in the venture, expresses confidence in the company’s capacity to make a favorable impact on the French market.
The initial half of 2023 witnessed a 4% year-on-year expansion in France’s regulated gaming sector, attaining €5.35 billion ($5.63 billion) in gross gaming revenue (GGR). Although operators FDJ and PMU hold a commanding 78% market share, Betsson is entering on the heels of a robust quarter that saw its group revenue surge by 27% to €2.368 billion. Earlier this year, Betsson broadened its collaboration with casino content provider Pragmatic Play.
Evolution, a leader in live dealer entertainment, has teamed up with Jalla Casino to offer their immersive gaming experiences to the Swedish market. This collaboration is significant due to Evolution’s prominent standing in the live casino industry. In a separate development, Betsson Group has rebranded their Danish casino platform from Casino.dk to Betsson.dk, effective August 2023. This strategic shift aims to bolster their position in the Danish market by leveraging the widespread recognition of their global brand.
