A significant alteration? Football teams are now prohibited from publicizing betting lines and websites directly on their social media accounts. The reason? These platforms are favored by younger demographics, and the government aims to reduce their exposure to gambling promotions.
These fresh regulations are part of a broader initiative to enhance online safety for young individuals. The government is also exploring methods to make it more challenging for social media corporations and websites to display mature content, including gambling.
The BGC, which already enforces its own code of conduct limiting football clubs from directly advertising wagering on social media, fully supports these modifications. They view it as a crucial measure to protect young people from the potential risks associated with gambling.
