The Argentine region of Cordoba has just taken a significant stride towards legitimizing internet wagering. The legislative body has approved a measure that will permit casinos, sports betting, and lotteries to function online. This measure aims to eliminate illicit gambling within the region.
The measure mirrors legislation enacted in Buenos Aires Province and the City of Buenos Aires, which have already begun authorizing online gambling. Argentina grants each region the authority to determine whether or not to legalize gambling.
The new regulation in Cordoba will permit a maximum of five enterprises to operate online gambling platforms for a duration of 20 years. Foreign entities can also participate, but they are required to collaborate with a local firm and cannot hold more than 35% ownership of the venture.
To engage in online gambling in Cordoba, individuals must be at least 18 years of age and register with the gambling enterprise. The enterprises are obligated to retain user data for a period of five years following the cessation of service utilization.
Ethical gaming measures have been incorporated into legislation, permitting players to establish deposit caps, set self-exclusion boundaries, and activate notifications that remind them of prolonged gaming sessions exceeding three hours.
This legislation forbids gambling promotions unless explicitly authorized by the gaming regulatory body.
